The Glamorous Life of a Real Estate Agent: Volume 11 – A Happy Real Estate Holiday

The stories we share in our “glamorous” series are usually just the opposite- this business isn’t easy. Case in point, last week we featured stories about agent encounters with suspicious plants known to lift spirits, and Eve’s story of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll was voted readers’ favorite.

However, in light of the holiday season, we wanted to share a truly great story – one that captures the spirit of faith, family and good fortune we hope you’re all experiencing this season. … continue reading

We hope your business is booming during the winter season, but that you still have time to enjoy the holidays with your loved ones in the coming weeks.

The real estate business can be intense and every situation is unique. Last week we featured a few stories about clients packing heat that made for some very tense situations, and Jeri Jo Meyer’s story about a very creepy CMA was voted your favorite.

This week we’re taking a look at encounters some real estate pros have had with plant material that is also known to make its users merry no matter what the season. … continue reading

The Glamorous Life of a Real Estate Agent: Volume 8 – Dirty Jobs

When an agent’s job ventures into unglamorous territory it can get downright dirty. Last week, in honor of Thanksgiving, we shared your stories about feasts with “friends” and you found the tale of Deborah’s refined rat and the account of Patricia’s cringe-worthy chuck roast to be equally entertaining.

This week we’ve got a mess of fun stories about homes and experiences that turned out to be hot messes. Read on and vote for your favorite! … continue reading

The Glamorous Life of a Real Estate Agent – Volume 6: See You Later Alligator

Besides naked people and dog poop, animals seem to be one of the most common things real estate agents encounter that make for an entertaining story. Last week we shared three tales about man’s best friend that had us in stitches and asked you to vote for your favorite. It’s too close to declare a winner, so cast your vote if you haven’t already.

This week we’ve got stories about a whole different species. It’s a far cry from a cuddly pooch and inspires many to get the heck out of dodge when it makes an appearance. Check out these adventures with alligators and similar reptiles and vote for the one you like best. … continue reading

Trulia Bakes to Support Men’s Health

Mr. Mo Cupcake

If you’ve been keeping up with the happenings here at Trulia, you probably know that we are participating in Movember, the fundraising event that asks men to grow a moustache during the month of November to help raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research, education and prevention.

To show our support for our men in moustache uniform, many of us ladies who are participating sans a ‘stache, recently put our baking skills to work and created an array of moustache treats to sell to our San Francisco employees to help generate cash for the cause. And our appeal to everyone’s sweet tooth and benevolent nature was a huge success. … continue reading

The Glamorous Life of a Real Estate Agent – Volume 5: Gone to the Dogs

The vast number of canines that appear in agent profile photos is a good indication that the real estate profession is fairly dog-friendly; however showing a house where an unfamiliar dog has claimed his turf can be a difficult situation even for the biggest dog-lover.

Last week in Volume 4 of our “Glamorous” series we reviewed some of your funniest stories about run-ins with sellers and buyers in the nude, and Nancy Tallman’s story of her unclothed and unfaithful client was voted the best.

This week we’re featuring our favorite tales you told us about a few four-legged “friends” that prove the postman has nothing on real estate agents. Vote for your favorite story and share your own “glamorous” real estate tale in a comment below. … continue reading
