Mr. Mo Cupcake
If you’ve been keeping up with the happenings here at Trulia, you probably know that we are participating in Movember, the fundraising event that asks men to grow a moustache during the month of November to help raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research, education and prevention.
To show our support for our men in moustache uniform, many of us ladies who are participating sans a ‘stache, recently put our baking skills to work and created an array of moustache treats to sell to our San Francisco employees to help generate cash for the cause. And our appeal to everyone’s sweet tooth and benevolent nature was a huge success.
The turnout for our Movember bake sale was awesome and the generosity we saw was even more impressive. We charged just $2 for each cookie and cupcake, but many gave a bit more and didn’t ask for change, and at the day’s end we raised a total of $413.

Our Denver office is also holding a similar pasta lunch today, thanks in part to local eateries who rose to the occasion when asked to donate their wares, and there are more events like this to come as Movember marches on. We’re making an effort to raise all we can internally, but we still need help from you to get to our $10k goal.
If you’re able to, please make a donation to our Movember team, and please keep in mind that small sums can make a big difference.
Our bake sale is proof of that concept. The average donation was $5, but we raised close to 100 times more!
The next time you’re thinking about shelling out $5 for an easy lunch or a pumpkin spice espresso concoction, think about what that $5 can become when paired with many other $5 bills, and bring your lunch or skip the coffee and donate to Team Trulia to help us raise $10k for Movember and for men’s health.
